Antarctica & South America (1/15 - 2/2/26)
While originally not on my bucket list, our opportunity to cruise with some family in the southern hemisphere came at a great time to add and check this off the list. We sailed on Celebrity Cruise Lines to Antarctica and ports in South America out of Buenos Aires, Argentina. We sailed for 14 nights and stopped at various locations in ports in South America and visited many sights in Antarctica itself. Now to be clear, this trip was not one of those National Geographic, ha

Apopka, FL - Many C2C Trails (12/1 - 1/1/26)
In our quest to ride new trails in FL, we moved to just west of Apopka to visit the many trails this area has to offer. We stayed at the NW Orlando/Orange Blossom KOA . The place wasn't fancy, but nice except it did have a lot of noise from trucks, trains, and airplanes being next to a busy highway, railroad tracks, and a regional airport. Thankfully I had my sleep buds to negate the noise when sleeping. One day we took a trip over to Cape Canaveral for a Starlink launch.

Lake Wales, FL - Lake Okeechobee ST (11/1 - 12/1/25)
Wintering in FL at a RV Resort can be tough! (jk) We stayed at the Resort at Canopy Oaks . This full service resort is where we have stayed in the past and wanted to return. They are out in the boonies, but have just about every amenity to keep you from needing to leave the property. One of the best parts of this place are the sunsets. This picture was from a bar stool in the tiki hut. Our site was on the water and we had all kinds of room. There's also a brick patio t

Gainesville, FL - Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail (10/22 - 11/1/25)
Now that we are in FL, we will take advantage of the warm weather to ride some of our favorite trails in the state. In Gainesville, we stayed at the Santa Fe Palms RV Resort . The trail we ride when we are here is the Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail. We also rode some other trails not too far from here. This rail trail is 16 miles long and obviously from the name, you can tell where it begins and ends. The trail is mostly wooded with plenty of shade. We were able ride

Frederick, MD - W&ODT (10/15 - 10/19/25)
Wrapping up our tour of the northeast US, we stayed at my brother in-law's land in Woodsboro, MD. He has a 30-amp hookup for us whenever we are in the area. We are actually here to attend a wedding of our longtime friend's son. We got to visit with some old friends and even managed a quick ride on the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Trail . Although I do not believe the wedding planned this balloon launch during the reception, we did witness them fly over very near th

Morris, PA - Pine Creek Rail Trail (10/7 - 10/14/25)
This area is known as the "Grand Canyon of PA" where the Pine Creek Rail Trail travels between mountains on both sides and along the Pine Creek in north central PA. While here in Morris , we stayed at the Twin Streams Campground that was fairly central to the trailheads. This trail is very remote and runs about 66 miles from Wellsboro to Jersey Shore. Due to weather and time allotted, we did not ride the entire trail, but we definitely want to return to finish every mile

York, PA - Heritage Rail Trail (10/1 - 10/6/25)
While in PA, we made sure to ride another HoF Rail Trail near York, PA. The Heritage Rail Trail starts in York and travels down to the PA state line with MD. We stayed at the Ben Franklin RV Park near the west side of York. This trail was unique in that the trail still has the original rails that are still used in some ways today. There is a section of the trail you can ride on a rail bike with American Rail Bike in Seven Valleys. I've seen this before in IA, but I sti

Hershey, PA - NW Lancaster River Trail (9/20 - 9/25/25)
Starting to reach the end of our northeast US tour, we come to PA to ride some more great rail trails before it gets too cold for the winter. This time we stayed at the Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA Holiday . Now this campground is much closer to Elizabethtown than Hershey, but it was pretty close to the trail we wanted to ride. The main reason for being here was to ride the NW Lancaster County River Trail . This rail trail is about 16 miles long and runs along the picturesq

Poughkeepsie, NY - Hudson Valley Trail (9/15 - 9/19/25)
Continuing our tour of the northeast US, we go back into New York and stay near Poughkeepsie at the Jellystone Gardiner . We came here to ride part of the huge Empire State Trail that stretches 750 miles across the state. The HoF Rail Trail , Hudson Valley Trail is only 7 miles long, but is connected to the Dutchess Rail Trail on the east side of the Hudson river. The trail was wide and fully-paved and was in good condition. This is looking at the bridge ( Walkway Ove

Boston/Salem - Minuteman Commuter Bikeway (9/1 - 9/8/25)
We are now spending some time in Massachusetts to ride some more bike trails and to visit several significant historical sites. We stayed at Spacious Skies Minute Man northwest of Boston. Our main purpose here is to ride the HoF Rail Trail named Minuteman Commuter Bikeway . We also visited and took tours in Boston and Salem during this stop. Growing up, I loved to watch the TV series "Cheers" for many years. So when we got to Boston for a history-based bar crawl/tour, w

Scarborough, ME - Eastern Trail (8/26 - 9/1/25)
After leaving Bar Harbor, we ventured down the coast to just south of Portland near Scarborough. We stayed at the SAC Sun Outdoors Saco Old Orchard Beach Resort . Our goal here was to make sure we rode the Eastern Trail which is another HoF Rail Trail on our bucket list. At the north end of the trail is the Bug Light lighthouse in South Portland at the Bug Light Park . Also in the park is a nice and informative memorial and walls telling the stories of the Liberty Ships

Beginning our trip east, our first ride was the Pere Marquette Trail . This 55 mile trail is another Hall of Fame Rail Trail on our list to ride. We stayed at both the Ludington East KOA and the Wiedman KOA . We rode the trail in out-and-backs over 4 days. Although the trail did not go through Ludington, we did visit here a few times because it was right on Lake Michigan and had many restaurants on or near the water. Before we started our trail riding we headed to the L

RAGBRAI LII (7/19 - 7/26/25)
Back in IA, we once again ride the annual RAGBRAI ride across Iowa. This time it was just Michelle, Zack, and I. This time it was also Zack's first time riding. So we took turns riding and driving. This year's event was in the northern part of Iowa and wasn't very hilly or long this time around. One our favorite daily stops is to the Iowa Craft Beer Tent where beer is plenty, music is playing and more. The start of this year's ride was Orange City which is not situated
