Wintering in FL at a RV Resort can be tough! (jk) We stayed at the Resort at Canopy Oaks. This full service resort is where we have stayed in the past and wanted to return. They are out in the boonies, but have just about every amenity to keep you from needing to leave the property.

One of the best parts of this place are the sunsets. This picture was from a bar stool in the tiki hut.

Our site was on the water and we had all kinds of room. There's also a brick patio to put your lawn chairs.

A tall bird with gray feathers stands on a grassy field, surrounded by green bushes. The sunlight casts a warm glow, creating a peaceful scene.

Wildlife is also very common out here.

The pool here is really nice. We parked ourselves several afternoons here.

Sorry for all the sunsets, but we had to take advantage of taking photos of these beautiful skies.

The tiki hut bar had live music about once a week.

Sunset view from our campsite.

Who can resist the giant chair shot during a sunset!

Believe it or not, we actually did some bike riding while here as well. This is part of the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST). This trail is built upon the dikes that form the lake. In some areas they are paved and others are not. Some of the unpaved areas can be rough. No shade on here that I can recall.

We also rode the Fort Fraiser Trail starting in Bartow. We saw so many armadillos while riding this day. The trail is paved and good condition, but it was kinda noisy being close to the busy highway.

Two times we were able to take advantage of seeing some family. My sister Trish and Ronnie came to visit our parents, so we came up to the Villages to join them for a few days.

No visit can be complete without venturing to visit new restaurants (to me) in the Villages.

We also came up again to share Thanksgiving with parents and my step sister Cindy and her husband Kurt.

Again, another selfie during a sunset!

One last view to end the post.

From here we head up to Apopka, FL to ride more rail trails. There are several around north of Orlando we want to ride that are part of the Coast to Coast trail that travels across the state. Check my next post to see and read more about them...
