Back in Mississippi, we rode another Hall of Fame trail named the Tanglefoot Trail. This trail is near Tupelo, MS where may have heard Elvis was born and raised. We stayed at the Davis Lake Campground while we were here which is part of the National Forest system.

Our site was right on the water front with picturesque views of the water and abundant wildlife. Our site was very large with plenty of room and moving through the campground was not an issue with our big rig which can be an potential issue in older national and state campgrounds.

Another view from our site as the sun gets ready to set. In the bottom right of this photo you can see our Starlink dish which we rely upon greatly for our Internet access.

The Tanglefoot Trail is the second Hall of Fame Trail we have visited in MS in the last few weeks. The trail was in great condition with paved asphalt and was about 44 miles in length.

Keeping with the theme of cattle ranches along these southern rail trails, we came upon this guy standing in the middle of the trail one day. He obviously escaped from the nearby ranch, and was happy standing in the middle of the trail for quite a while. Since I was wearing a red shirt, I didn't try my luck and waited for him to leave. After a while he moved off the trail and we were able to pass by.

The trail is very rural and passes through several towns. There were also several stops in between the towns to rest as well. The weather was great and we were able to ride the trail in its entirety the two days we rode.

The town of Pontotoc, had quite a few places to rest with bathrooms and water. As you can tell this trail was a private/public partnership to keep the trail in good condition and growing. Most of the towns also had nearby restaurants from the trail.

Pontotoc also holds events and food trucks right along the trail. On the left you can see they are finishing up a mural on the pavilion side.

This Great Blue Heron loved to hang out right near our camp site and would visit several times a day. Must be good fishing here.
