As we cautiously (to avoid the cold) move closer to the Black Hills in South Dakota, we stopped off in Sioux Falls, SD for a couple of days to ride the Greenway trail loop around the city. We stayed at the KOA there right off I-90. Then on the way west, we stayed in another Harvest Host location in Murdo, SD. The Pioneer Auto Show is a unique collection of not only cars, but tractors, toys, and many more historical items.

The Sioux Falls Bike Trail Loop is an almost 20 mile loop around and through the city. We hopped on our bikes right from the campground rode down a couple of streets to the start the loop on the north side. The north and west sides are near the airport and some recreation parks.

Much of the trail is located along flood control greenways with flat (except one place on the northeast side where there were some switchbacks), paved trails the whole way.

On the east side of the loop, you go through the heart of the city and have access to many restaurants and bars.

There is ample signage and rest areas along the trail and like the map above shows, it is a true loop with a few branch trails.

We stopped at Monk's Ale House (above) and Remedy Brewing Company for a break and for refreshments/snacks.

After leaving Sioux Falls, we stayed at the Pioneer Auto Show Museum for the night. The next morning we took the self-guided tour of the many buildings of thousands of old artifacts. There is the General Lee on the left.

This place has so much stuff in so many buildings, I think it has become very hard to keep in good condition, but there are gems every where you look. I actually saw a John Deere 10-speed, just like the one I had in the mid 1970s. I came to find out John Deere only made these bikes for three years, so now I regret selling my collector's item.

Another item of interest to us was this 1921 custom motorhome made for this couple who decided to spend 3 years to cross the country in it. Looking inside, I can really appreciate the room I have in my home now.

This place also has so many unique items you probably can't find anywhere else. Ever seen a stagecoach mounted to a motorcycle chassis?

Going through this place, I can't even imagine how much time was spent "picking" to build this collection. If you have ever seen American Pickers, you can only imagine this as an ideal location to pick through.
