On our way to Minnesota, we stopped by the Iowa Great Lakes region to ride some local trails and get some "lake life" experiences. We were only here a few days, but the weather was great and we crammed in as many outdoor experiences as we could.

One of the experiences we wanted to enjoy was dining with views of the lake, so we headed to The Waterfront for some seafood and views of the lake below. Many of these places have parking for your boat so many choose to just hop in the boat to go out for the evening (we had to drive our Jeep).

We did take some time to just relax in the sand and get some sun. There a few beaches like this, but it seems like everyone who has a house here has a boat to zip around the lakes.

Our longest ride (27 miles) we followed the Iowa Great Lakes Recreation Trail and Great Lakes Spine Trail to loop around the deepest, glacial lake, West Okoboji.

We stayed at the modest Elinor Bedell State Park that had full hookups, but only 30 amp electric. Now we move on to Minnesota for some more RAGBRAI Prep!
