After leaving Myrtle Beach, we came down to Hilton Head Island, SC to explore another place we have never visited before. This time we stayed at the Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort. We also had the pleasure of hosting our niece Megan for a few days to join in the fun while we were there.

These motorcoach resorts have sites where you pull your motorhome into the site (instead of back-in) so that you can see views like this out your front window every morning.

This place was really pretty at all times of the day and night. Of course you pay for the view, so we weren't here a lengthy time as to not try to break the budget.

These resorts have many amenities like heated pools, hot tubs, tennis/pickleball courts, etc. You don't have to leave the resort to have fun.

Having a view like this makes just sitting on our patio an easy choice for a relaxing time. This place had so much flora, that you barely see the sites next to you.

The sites come with large, furnished patios so I didn't even have to break out my own chairs or grill.

The lighted fountains provided comforting sound of falling water and pleasant views all night.

Hilton Head Island was also very bike friendly with many trails to get you almost anywhere on the island. We could hop on the trail right outside the resort and travel to the beach or many restaurants in the area. We were close to many places from the resort with just a short bike ride.

One day we went off the island to Port Royal to ride the Spanish Moss Trail. This day we rode about 20 miles. The trail was fully paved and in great condition.

Of course, we spent much of our time on the beach. We liked going to Burkes Beach that was away from the high rises and provided a wide, peaceful beach. You couldn't drive onto the beach here, but parking wasn't too far away and was free.

Another pic from the beach showing off our tans.

We went to the Old Oyster Factory for dinner one evening with Megan. Of course, I had to satisfy my seafood craving with an oyster platter.

Here we rode our bikes to the downtown area to visit the Side Hustle Brewing Co. in an old bank. Just to the right over the railing is a young adult alligator laying in the marsh.

After a shopping spree at the Outlets, we stopped by the Burnt Church Distillery for some craft cocktails. Thanks Megan for joining us! Now we have a long drive to Alabama to check out Gulf beaches for the first time for us.
