Done with the beaches for a long while, we headed inland to ride more rail trails. This time we stayed at the Sweetwater Creek RV Reserve on the west side of the Atlanta suburbs. The name is fancier than the place, so I do not recommend if you want a camping experience (small sites, no fire pit, etc). Michelle did like the laundry room to wash the bed spread.

I guess the only reason we were here was to ride the Silver Comet again, so where we stayed was just a place to sleep anyway. Last time we were here, weather prevented us from completing the trail, so this time we finished what we hadn't been able to ride before.

This a Hall of Fame Rail Trail, that stretches 62 miles and is also joined by the Chief Ladiga Trail in Alabama. Last time we rode the whole Chief Ladiga and the west side of the Silver Comet, so this time we rode the eastern side of the Silver Comet. We put in 45 miles this time to complete the trail.

This trail starts on the west side of the Atlanta suburbs and runs all the way to the Alabama line. As you can see it is fully paved, wide, well-marked, and has excellent road crossing safety infrastructure (i.e. button to warn cars of persons crossing). The trail was also very well utilized with many bikers/walkers on the east side. This is a great trail and I highly recommend it if you ever run through the GA area.

After we left GA, we stayed at another Harvest Host. This time it was the Silver Springs Vineyards near Riceville, TN. They had plenty of room for my RV and three other RVs stayed there with us. Their main offering was a restaurant on premises. Although they did not offer wine tastings anymore, they do sell their own wines in the restaurant. Here you see I had the fish and oysters dinner (I recommend staying and eating here too!).
